I recently had an epiphany, where I realized that with all of my “big vision thinking”, I had a tendency to talk about the things that I was “going to do”, but realized that I would rarely take action on getting it done. Being a Cali girl, and growing up in Los Angeles, I experienced tons of people who always “talked” but could never show proof that they “acted” on any of the things that they hyped up.  It was as though they felt better because of sharing some ideas they had…but still they never lived them.

Why is it that we don’t take action? Why do we continue to hype ourselves up all to feel disappointed and unproductive because we suddenly realize that we arent’ making progress in our lives and we tend to end up in the same position this year that we were in last year???

I’ll tell you why….It’s because we NEVER TAKE ACTION!!! And the more I begin to consciously understand this, I see that there are many reasons why we tend to get paralyzed in the midst of the process from our hopes and dreams to our current reality.

#1) Many of us fear failure and therefore think it safe to just stay complacent in our current position rather than really giving things a try.

#2) We tend to feel like “now is not the time”, and wait for perfect timing or perfect conditions – (which don’t exist)

#3) We let other people talk us out of our personal ambitious, and allow them to place their personl opinions on us, which tend to be totally out of character for us, causing less progress and more frustration.

If you’ve been faced with this scenario, and feel as though your life isn’t making progress then I will share with you a few tips that can begin to make you feel as though you are finally making progress.

#1) Write down the vision that you have for yourself and the end result that you would like to see happen in your life.

For example, if you say that you see yourself opening up your own daycare and you’ve always envisioned the parents coming through the doors to drop their kids off, and you gave them a sense of comfort to know their child was in good hands…take the time out to write a clear, detailed description of what your daycare looks like. What color paint is on the wall? What does it smell like when they walk in the room? What are the first things they say when they enter their classroom? What kind of songs do they sing???….Go into serious detail!!

#2) Write down the goals that you’d like to accomplish and the things that you’d like to pursue, and what it will take for you to get there.

To reference the daycare, what goals do you have for the center? How many children do you see occupying the facility? Go into detail of how you want it to run and what you’d like the end result to be!

#3) Break the goals down into milestones that will be small steps that you can take that will lead you in the direction of accomplishing that task.

i.e., If you know you want to open a daycare, determine what courses you need to take and register for them. Determine what licenses you need and the location you want to have it in and start making contacts to find a building and get your permitting.

#4) Avoid Distractions. If you have for example, a goal to work on your website today, and you know that your phone is always ringing, learn to turn the phone off for a few hours and finish a task and once you’ve gotten it done, come back to it as you will feel a sense of accomplishment.

#5) Confront your fears and do it anyway. If you have personal insecurities, fears, and worries that arise and make you wonder if you will succeed or not, address those emotions and talk yourself through it by encouraging yourself to give it a try anyway, knowing that you will only discover the outcome  by taking action!!

In order for us to really see our lives making progress, we “MUST TAKE ACTION”. It iw very challenging to see our lives being in the same place today as it was 5 years ago, but unless we do something about it, we will find that we will remain in this vicious cycle until we enforce change!

Make a decision today to do something daring and risky that will lead you closer to your goals and your dreams. It’s time to take action and “GO AHEAD AND GET IT DONE!!”

I’ve finally gotten my hands on Tim Ferriss’ book “4 Hour Work Week”! I’ve been eying that book for the past 2 years with immense curiosity as to how someone could work only 4 hours a week and make a sufficient living. Like Curious George, I have prowled the aisles of many library’s, purchased several e-books, visited many websites and joined several programs in hopes of discovering a similar path for myself. The more I searched, the more I believed that it is really possible to work smart and not hard, and live a life doing what you love without money ever being an issue.

Many people have been so burdened with the norm of working a 9-5, and putting their dreams and hopes on hold because people enforce that we must own up to our responsibilities and have a “real job”. Today I question, what is a real job? Why is it that the things that bore the heck out of people and add 10 extra years of misery to their lives are the only ways that people will validate it as being “Real”???

Why is it that when we are kids, we are asked that Million Dollar Question “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and If we say an Astronaut, Ballerina or the President, we are told “You can be whatever you want to be”! However, when we are so called “grown up”, and begin to talk about our dreams and fantasies of becoming…., we are told to “get real”, or told to let go of those childhood dreams and grow up and get a Real Job! What the heck is that???

After pondering these psychotic hypocrisy’s that are excepted by most as “that’s just the way it is”, I want to challenge that mediocre thought and say “NO it’s not!”. The truth is, you can be anything you want to be…a circus clown, a gymnast, a world tour guide, a cameraman for the 6 o’clock news, a celebrity, basketball player….whatever!! You can be anything you want to be. The key is taking ACTION to bring those goals to life and being the one and only person that believes in those dreams and goals despite what others around you may say.

I’ve seen far too many people talk about “When I retire……I will do…..”…………Yeah right! Half of us may never make it to retirement age because of all the stress our boring, unchallenging mundane Jobs have caused us. Please forgive me for my forwardness, but it baffles me how we can devote so many minutes, hours, weeks and years to something that we have absolutely no interest in. Why do we do that??? Because we were told that this is apart of the “Real World”…..Who in the heck came up with that lie???….

Life is what you make of it and each and every one of us has a yearning or desire for so much more. So why then, do we put off our desires to accept the lies of a false reality that someone tries to make us own??? Why aren’t we bold enough to step outside of the status quo, and go against the grain to create our own lives, our own destinies and form our own futures???

The truth is that many of us wait for “perfect conditions” before we ever step out to own up to what we really want. We keep thinking that “now isn’t the time” to enroll in that class, sign up for that program, take that international trip or write that book. We say “maybe next year” the time will be right, in hopes of the delays pushing off those fears that we are too chicken to confront and face. We procrastinate in hopes of ignoring those nagging feelings that say “go for it”, “quit now”…and all of those other bold reminders that let us know that we still have the power in our hands to change our destinies.

If that has been you, I want to say that NOW IS THE TIME!!! There will never be PERFECT CONDITIONS, enough $$$ or a house free of kids. Now is the time, to take the plunge, explore that dream, and act on your visions! NOW IS THE TIME to put you on the schedule and say Yes to your future and No to a life of the LIVING DEAD!!!

NOW IS THE TIME!!!!!!………………….(okay, can you hear me screaming this by now???) Good!!!

I’ve been on a hiatus revamping my life, my focus and my business. Being that I’m always up to some “great idea”, I’ve been confronted with tons lately that have been good….but not the perfect one to pursue. Ever since I was young, I’ve always enjoyed finding ways to motivate and encourage others. As my friends would say, “If you hang around Nikki long enough, she’ll have you beleiving that you can walk on the moon!”.

I agree!! I am that person that can pump you up to believe that you can do anything, but I only do that because I believe in people following their dreams and pursuing their passions. With that said, I have made the committment to a new business “Purpose, Profit, Passions!”, which is my motivaltional speaking and personal development company.

Realizing that it doesn’t make sense to try to host several different blogs, “Viral Marketing Geeks” will now be merged with “Purpose, Profit, Passions!” as a source of personal development and internet marketing strategies that can better help guide you down the path of Success.

It takes Personal Development and knowing your purpose first, before strongly pursuing any other pursuits. I find that so many people are running around here jumping from one career to the next, wondering why they loathe their lives, not realizing that they have never stopped to think about the things that they truly desire to do or understand their lifes purpose.

The goal of “Purpose, Profit, Passions!” is to show people the necessary steps to discover their Purpose, push them to seek out their Passions, and then I will guide you on how to turn those Passions into Profits! This will be a fun and exciting journey that I can assure you that will be satisfactory for us all. I recall the days of english class when we were constantly reminded of writing our papers in the Who, What, When, Where, Why & How format.  Although I never really scored that high in my english classess, I quickly learned to adopt the process of simply “asking questions”.  Now that I’ve become more mature and could better process the cause and effect concept, I realize that everything we do MUST HAVE A PURPOSE AND INTENT.

It goes with saying, “those who fail to plan, plan to fail”! The alternative to this would be Jim Rohns awesome statement “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”

My question for you today is “What is your Why for what you are currently pursuing?” Why are you involved in that home based business? Why do you want to learn more about Internet Marketing? Why do you want to make more money? Why are you trying to meet people on Social Media Sites? Why are you reading this blog entry? Why?

What is the purpose of what you are doing? Where will it lead you? What are you going to do to make sure you succeed? What plans have you mapped out to ensure you succeed? Who is mentoring you and guiding you along the way? What if you encounter a  challenge, how will you face it? …………………Who, What, When, Where, Why & How?????????????????

Can you answer these questions?

You may think I’m getting too deep into your business, but that’s good. That is my intent. I personally have been faced with asking myself these question and if I don’t stop to consider them and truly think them through and map them out, then I am bound to fail.

Despite your endeavors, and regardless of your “ambitions”….if you do not know “why” you are really pursuing what you are pursuing, then the minute a challenge comes along, you will be knocked down, ran over, trampled on, forgotten about and eventually your “dreams” will fade away…..

Just to be transparent with you, I will give you a quick peek into my world……………

I have always wanted to be a motivational speaker and seek to impact the lives of people. Although I didn’t necessarily realize this while in college, I discovered it along the way when I had gotten involved with ministry and volunteered for local juvenille facilites in my college town of Auburn, AL.  The more I realized how much I wanted to help people, the more excited I became in “civil activities”. The problem was however, that I was majoring in a subject that had nothing to do with “service”. Instead, it was based on another favorite passion of mine………MAKING MONEY.

When I graduated from college, I struggled with the crossroads of “should I go and serve in some form of non-profit to help people”  or should I puruse a corporate career and climb up the ladder to earning a 6 figure salary.  The truth was, I had always planned on being a millionaire so anything that didn’t pay well was often over-ruled by a great income earning opportunity.

It didn’t take me but one year to realize how much I hated Corporate America. Dreams of Climbing up the Corporate Ladder quickly became visions of escaping out the “fire exit” of what I considered to be the building that smothered your dreams, while suffocating your vision within the cubicle walls. Once again……………I QUICKLY LEARNED THAT I HATED CORPORATE AMERICA!

My chase for entrepreneurship was quickly discovered as I sought ways to financially fund my overhead while giving me a flexible schedule.  I would try it all…waiting tables, selling Avon, selling jewelry, selling Real Estate, Selling travel, substitute teaching……………..you name it, I’ve done it! And although it would help make me a lot of money for that time, I still had this nagging desire to really help people.

Having discovered the world of network marketing, I saw how I could marry the two together….Helping People while making a comfortable living doing so, and also having the flexibility of my time so that if I wanted to volunteer at a youth center, group home or convalescent home, I had the control and freedom to do so.

About a year ago, I went through the soul searching process again. Being a new mom, living in a new city and having just lost everything that I had built along with my husband over the past few years, I needed to get clarity on where I wanted to go from there.  My quest would lead me to the world of Internet Marketing, where I would sail through the chambers of unknown concepts that could assure me long-term success as I mastered the Art of Attraction Marketing by providing quality information and guidance to the lost souls online, and make money doing it….

I was unsure of how to approach it, but along the way, the blueprint became clear. Everyday, I would put forth a strategic plan of action that would ultimately lead me to where I am today. And now, I have clear “who, what, when, where, why & how goals”.

My Why is to “Earn a substantial amount of income while helping others, with the flexibility and abundance of time to invest in civil services”.

Everything I do is with intent and purpose, and builds on this simple “Why” statement.

My goal for you today is to write out your Why statement, and create a gameplan that will ensure your success!

There is another great phenomenon that every one is trying to get into lately….It’s been on Oprah, The Daily Buzz, MSNBC and all things Media.  I just so happened to turn on The Daily buzz last week to catch them interviewing a guy about how he makes a living doing this……….As they interviewed him, he pulled out his flip camera, and wanted to make sure he had gotten his own footage to upload onto his blog, so that this too could be a great story for his thousands of followers.

The main topic of his interview was “How do you really make money blogging?” Of course he couldn’t give up all of his goods during this one 5 minute interview, but it dawned on me that the world is desperately trying to figure that out.

For months I have been preaching a message with sincere urgency, emphasizing the greatest rule in Internet Marketing. For months I’ve fought for the greatest unwritten rule in the industry, with no intentions of ever falling back on that Grand Master Plan………….never thinking for a second that I had it in me to step back on all of my rules and beliefs.

But recently, something so amazing came to me, and I guess….I’m a sucker for a great and amazing opportunity that in my eyes…is unparalleled to most that have come across my path. Welp…I guess rules are meant to be broken cause guys…my infamous rule of “Never Promote Your Company Or Product”…has been split in half with my latest marketing efforts as I shattered every previous emphasis of this rule!

I recently found an amazing company that has opened doors to all of my passions which are, ministry, internet marketing, personal development, mentoring, teaching, coaching, consulting and helping others enhance their image. A little more than a year ago, I gave birth to my first child, Chloe Imaan Cooper…………She has been such a joy, but the process of pregnancy and giving birth has thrusted me into a new complex or personal challenge shall I say.

Many may never even think it possible, but ever since I had my daughter, I’ve been having personal challenges about the transition that has taken place with my body. In the eyes of most, my size 8 tall…what appears to be slender body may be an understatement of “body shame”….but what others hadn’t seen, I have struggles with and despite my “appearance of small frame”…I personally see the gravity that has begun to take a toll on my …once athletic build, and so my hunt for change has been on, as I sought for what I’ve personally titled “Mommy Lifestyle Makeover”…or as my good girlfriend Nicole Porsche Mosely has titled it “Operation Hot Mama”.

I had made a commitment this year to enhance and improve every area of my life. My social life, relationships, friendships, physical image, and every other area. I have been craving for a total lifestyle transition, and as of a month ago, after pitifully poring out my personal sorrows about my body image all over a mommy blog…I realized how pathetic I sounded and decided to go ahead and join the gym…abiding in the faithful demands of my husband to “Stop Whining and Start Doing Something About It!”……..Not even two days after joining the gym…a girlfriend sent me these before and after pictures…

Considering that I had just begun to battle the bulge…I wondered, what in the heck is she doing cause I need to get rid of my little pouch that had gotten quite comfortable with protruding over my pant lines…and started to form a little rollover under my clothes….

With great interest, I called her and so goes the introduction to something that has hit home for me. With great zeal, I shared this modern day miracle with others, and found that so many people have been buried under the pain and shame of weight. So many moms have had their outgoing personalities buried under the pains of that baby weight that they have never been able to rid themselves of. Some unfortunate overweight individual has battled low self-esteem and shut themselves out from the rest of the world because of this unwanted leech called weight….

Once I realized how big of a battle it has been for so many people, and saw the impact that my message could have on the world…….I didn’t budge at the opportunity to share this revolutionary product with the world. So if I have contradicted my own rules and stepped out into the No Mans Land of Professional Internet Marketers…then so be it if it means that I can help save a life, improve and enhance someones image and rid them of their shame to experience a sense of hope………….then so be it!
