I must admit that I’ve had a rough week. Being someone that loves to stay motivated and encouraging to others, it’s hard to accept those moments when I go from being the encourager to needing the encouragement. I realize that many times, especially for those of us that desire to be “Strong Leaders”, we can often neglect ourselves and the need to be refilled after we’ve continued to give.

One of the most important things for me in a situation like this is to have a Strong Mentor who can lead and guide us without being biased. Someone that knows your strengths and potential but will challenge you in those areas where you need to grow while boosting you with pure confidence that despite what you face, you will succeed!!

It’s a great role to stand as a mentor, and it’s an honor when you find those that are willing to invest in you as you adapt to the role of the Mentee.

I’ve discovered that it’s okay to know that you don’t know it all. You haven’t quite figured everything out yet, and you still have a lot of growing to do. But within all of this, it is extremely important to not let these moments hinder you from accomplishing your goal, but instead, surrounding yourself with those that can esteem you in the time of need!!

Do you have a mentor? If not, you MUST seek one ASAP to help you down your journey towards success! There will be moments where your emotions take over and you get into the “feeling” of where you are at that moment.

Find a mentor today to help you remain focused, maintain a level head and step up to confront the challenges of life boldly without any sense of pity, knowing that each battle you face, you will overcome despite the tough times!!

The results for January 09 layoffs were released this morning with alarming numbers. For the first time since 1974, we have reached an unemployment rate of 7.6% with over 598,000 people getting laid off in the month of January.  People are in a panic, businesses are standing paralyzed, afraid to make any moves, and the world is watching to see the Armageddon approach any day now.

The challenge with all of this panic and news is that everyone stops pursuing any other alternatives of survival, convinced that we have run out of options.  The reality is that whether people are working or not, they still need to eat, a place to stay and a way to supply the mental and physical needs of their families.  And if everyone gives up, we become the walking dead!

It is so important to take note that there are Millionaires being made right here, right now. People are taking advantage of opportunities that would not exist in a healthy economy.  We must realize that this too shall pass and “We will survive this Recession!”
